Government to introduce lodgment fee
Commencing 1 January 2011 the federal government will introduce a lodgment fee expected to be $200 for all consumer submitting a debt relief proposal under Part IX. It will be necessary for consumers to pay this fee, in full, before documents can be lodged.

Figures released by ITSA for the period 2007/2008 provisionally indicate that total personal insolvency activity continues to increase and during that period it grew by 2.9% to 32,909.
